Public Art Projects: Facilitator/Curator
GWYNN MURRILL
Eagle, Big Horn Sheep and Mountain Cat
The Montana
Pasadena, CA
2008
Gwynn Murrill created several artworks for The Montana, a mixed-use project on Colorado Blvd. in the heart of Pasadena. Inspired by the native wildlife of the adjacent San Gabriel mountains, Murrill uses imagery carved into the building and in bronze sculpture. Sightlines from The Montana to the San Gabriel mountains create linkage to the habitat of the animals represented in the artwork. Year in Review Citation, Best Public Art 2008, PAN (Public Art Network)/Americans for the Arts.
